The River Drive, or the River Road, located in the Charlevoix Region, is one of the most spectacular scenic circuits in all Eastern North America.
This tourist route flanks the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River offering breathtaking vistas at every turn. The River Drive links the municipalities of La Malbaie and Baie-St-Paul for about 60 km (37 mi) amidst picturesque scenery.
It crosses the communities of Eboulements and Saint-Irenee, both of them proud members of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Quebec. Following this road, travelers can admire Cap-aux-Oies, a peaceful place where you can spend hours strolling on the saltwater beach or just sitting on the rocks in a quiet contemplation.
Following the route, travelers can reach Domain Forget, a very special place where music and nature are in perfect harmony.
It’s a heritage site known for its Academy of Music and Dance. An International Festival is held there every year from mid-June to late August. This festival features close to 60 events focusing on classical music, dance, and jazz.
