The Orford Express tourist train

The Orford Express was launched in 2006, and after the first season, when almost every ride was fully booked, this attraction became one of the most interesting in the Eastern Townships.

The train that links Sherbrooke, Magog and Eastman, is not designed for transportation of goods. In fact, this one of the loveliest tourist trains in Canada. It offers two diesel-powered dining railcars with seating for up to 140. Its passengers enjoy a first-class meal while taking in the beauty and richness of the countryside.

The interiors have a luxurious retro look with leather seats, polished maple woodwork and royal blue velvet drapes trimmed with gold.

Table d’hôte dinners, brunch or light meals are served on board on English china. The ticket agents and waiters are decked out in traditional porters’ caps and uniforms with brass buttons.
The Orford express provides a leisurely, sightseeing jaunt of the region and tourists can order a glass of Chardonnay and gaze at passing delights, such as Mont Orford, Lake Memphremagog, Magog river, Lac des Nations or Mont Brome.

Audio-visual communications system with 72 high-definition screens are also offered in English.

Let’s remind you than train travel in deluxe surroundings has the charm of a bygone era. The passengers experience the ambience of olden days mix2ed with the latest technology - plasma television screens will show the conductor at work as well as close-ups of local sights as we ride by.

The Orford Express departs from Sherbrooke, Magog and Bromont. One-way and return trips are available.
