Nemaska

The community of Nemaska is located in the heart of the Cree Nation, nestled of the shore of Champion Lake, on the Bay James Eeyou Istchee region.

The name of the community means “place where to fish” in Cree language. Its population is of about 600. Indeed Nemaska is a lovely place to relax while taking in the natural beauty of the vast territory of the Bay James. From Nemaska, people can travel easily to the other communities, or just explore the surrounding wilderness in summer or winter.
