Trails of James Bay

Among the nicest trails of James Bay, hikers can enjoy more than 30 km of trails located in the Recreational Area of Matagami Lake. This network of wild trails is of intermediate and easy level, open all year long. These trails are situated on one of the oldest volcano of North America. All circuits are marked out and most of them provide interpretation and information about the surrounding landscape. Guests can take advantage of rental facilities for all the outdoor equipment they might need.

Bell Nature Park, located at Matagami, offer about 3 km of linear and loop paths. It’s an ideal halt to get rid of the stress of a long road trip. Walking trails of Bell Nature Park are accessible to anyone. While getting acquainted with the boreal forest, hikers are guided along their path with interpretation boards and find an observatory tower to climb up before they continue and reach the Chutes of Anse.
