Augustin Chenier Hall

Perched on a hill overlooking downtown Ville-Marie, the Augustin Chenier Hall is a multifunctional site of 300 comfortable seats arranged in staggered rows.

It was created in 2005, when the patrimonial Rift Theatre was converted in a new site which serves three purposes: the presentation of films (in partnership with the Productions de la Rive), the presentation of performing arts and the rental of its space to community organizations.

The site is managed by the Augustin-Chenier Corporation, named after a prominent Temiscamingue historian, who rote his his Historic commentaries about Temiscamingue, in 1937.

The corporation is a non-profit organization. It encompasses the Augustin-Chenier Gallery, a visual arts exhibition centre and the Rift Theatre. The Augustin-Chenier Corporation also hosts the International Miniature Art Biennial.
