Val-d’Or is one of the cities in Abitibi-Témiscamingue that owes its beginnings to the gold rush.

At its tourism hall,art is everywhere. Here guests can able to admire the gigantic work of a Cree artist: a two-ton sculpture made of soap stone, the bond of friendship between the Crees an the colonists.

The Expo-Art boutique, located the the Tourism Hall, displays works of dozens of local artists and artisans.
