Tour of Rouyn-Noranda

Tour of Rouyn-Noranda relives the development of the twin cities of Vieux-Noranda (Old-Noranda) and Vieux-Rouyn (Old-Rouyn). In fact these are two old neighbourhoods with several historic buildings.

Interpretive panels are installed along the streets, depicting themes dating back to the beginning of the colonisation. Guests can roam both neighbourhoods on foot, bicycle, inline skates or in a car.

During the tour, they can visit la Fontaine des Arts (Arts Fountain) of Rouyn-Noranda, the largest private cultural complex in the area. It’s an art gallery, where the work of regional artists in on show.

L’Ecart, another independent artists’ centre hosts visual arts events and shows, as well as regular exhibits representative of the various current trends.

This gallery highlights the work with emphasis on research, experimentation and innovation.
