Winter Fun in Charlevoix

The Charlevoix offers a wide range of cross country and snowshoe trails for every calibre, for the young and the young in heart. Here, cross country skiing, skating, sliding, winter kayaking, tobogganing are great for enjoying the pure and invigorating winter air in enchanting settings.

The Trail of Caps de Charlevoix (Sentier des Caps) offers about 50 km of Nordic ski and snowshoe trails along the mountains and peaks overlooking the St. Lawrence, as well as 65 km of marked cross country trails and off-trail skiing at the summit of Le Massif, with rustic cabin rentals and wilderness camping.

Centre de Plein Air Le Genevrier offers more than 12 km of cross country ski trails, two skating rinks, two tubing runs and 5 km of snowshoe trails.

Eco and Motion of La Malbaie (Ste-Agnes sector) offers many original and enriching winter activity packages, such as off-trail hiking, ski and snowshoeing treks, all-season camping, ice climbing for beginners, tobogganing, first-aid training, forest survival training and rejuvenating nature retreats in an incredible nature playground…

Centre of cross skiing La Randonnee de Ste-Agnes (La Malbaie): The Center features six wooded cross country trails and trails for snowshoeing with magnificent mountain views. Full-service welcome chalet, hut, wax room, snowshoe and skate rentals and other services and activities are available year-round, such as bingo, dances and more.

Centre Les Sources Joyeueses (La Malbaie) is an outdoor recreation center in a great setting with a complete range of sports activities and services, including 50 km of cross country ski trails and an observation tower with incomparable vistas of the St. Lawrence River and sections of the World Biosphere Reserve.

The area is part of the Charlevoix Best Landscapes and Views Circuit. On-site activities include cross country skiing, sliding, skating, hiking and snowshoeing. All-inclusive packages and equipment rentals are available.

National Park of Grands-Jardins offers visitors a unique Nordic skiing experience with 50 km of marked, intermediate-level trails. In winter, the excursion up to Cygnes Lake (Lac des Cygnes) in a great experience and its grandiose summit scenery is very attractive. Visits may be extended by renting a chalet, a shelter or a campsite.

La Traversee de Charlevoix offers three, four and seven day raids, dozens of kilometres of wilderness trails for intermediate and advances skiers. Shorter trails for snowshoeing are also available.

As to winter kayaking, ice floes, seals and kakaouis, sunshine and blue water are grandiose winter performance out on the St. Lawrence estuary. Winter sea kayaking is just as stimulating and safe as it is in summer. Katabatik, kayak de mer offers half-day excursions form Cap-a-l’Aigle and Petite-Riviere-St. Francois. Nautical equipment and full isothermal outerwear are supplied.
