Cheese ECONOMUSEUM
The Dairy Laiterie Charlevoix started producing cheese in 1948. Half a century later, in 1998, the institution became a Cheese ECONOMUSEUM. Over the years, this museum of cheese has become a genuine showcase for local cheeses and delicacies. Nowadays, it offers visitors a first-hand look at all stages of the cheese processing and aging. It also invites you for a walk through the ancient installations.
The Laiterie Charlevoix is one of the rare dairy enterprises that have chosen to process its cheddar cheese the old way, though always in strict compliance with current processing standards.
Guests can taste cheddar cheese curd, raw milk cheese, block cheese, habitant cream, and other products. They can also relax and enjoy a bite in the museum’s bistro. Guided tours are free, but you would pay a fee for a tasting experience.
