The Clarendon Hotel was built in 1870, and it’s thus one of the oldest hotels of Quebec City.
Another hotel once stood on this site across the street from the Anglican cathedral.
The Clarendon Hotel was designed by architect Charles Baillairgé. Its restaurant, named for the architect of building, boasts of being the “oldest restaurant in Canada”.
In the dining room and reception area visitors can see many historic photographs of Quebec City’s past, including early photos of the Clarendon.
