Westbury is a township in Le Haut-Saint-François County, in Eastern Townships (Estrie Region).
It has a population of about one thousand. The township of Westbury surrounds the town of East Angus. First settlers come here in 1801. The municipality was constituted en 1858.
Thanks to William Angus, who left Canada Paper in order to open his sawmill and factory, the township of Westbury became a local centre for pulp and paper in 1882. At the crossroads of Route 214 and the Basin Sud road, a century-old roadside cross defies time and is a source of pride for local residents.
Westbury Cemetery is located just past the town of East Angus on Route 112 East. It was founded in 1845 and is used today as it serves a wide area. Westbury circles the town of East Angus which decided to separate from the township as early as in 1912. It takes about 15 minutes drive to get to Sherbrooke from Westbury.
