St-Michel Environmental Complex
St-Michel Environmental Complex will take guests to some very strange landscapes, as a bike and pedestrian path in summer and a cross-country ski trail in winter leads around a former quarry.
People discover the cliffs carved into the stone by decades of excavation, and the landfill site that replaced the quarry operation. By 2020, the vast area of St-Michel Environmental Complex will become a vast urban park linking the beauties of nature, art, science and sport. The park is located on the TOHU's site.
In fact, Tohu, the circus arts centre, is in charge of activities at the park and its mission includes cultural, environmental and community components.
The Complex has 5 kilometres of trails covering 48 hectares for us to enjoy today. In 2020 that will be 192 hectares The Complex is based on sustainable development, and it has won many international environmental awards. Visitors can discover the TOHU and the CESM (St. Michel Environmental Complex) on foot, by bicycle or by bas.
Many special events are held there, such as Family Sundays, le Falla, a great carnival, bicycle Rally, Family Adventure – Searching for Tohu-Bohu and more.
